What we do with your information when you enquire.
Last updated 21 August 2026.
This policy explains what we do with your information when you contact us about catering. It is deliberately short, because we do very little with it.
The Gipsy Hill Smokehouse Ltd, 121 Central Hill, London SE19 1BY. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at timclements@thegipsyhillsmokehouse.com or on 07944 390 309.
When you fill in an enquiry form on this website we collect the details you type into it: your name, your email address, and — if you choose to give them — your phone number, the date of your event, the number of guests, the type of event, and whatever you write in the message box.
We do not run advertising trackers or analytics on this site, and we do not set any cookies of our own.
We use it to reply to your enquiry, to prepare a quote, and — if you go ahead — to plan and deliver your event and keep in touch about it. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services, and, once you book, the performance of our contract with you.
We will not add you to a mailing list off the back of an enquiry, and we will not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.
Three suppliers handle your information on our behalf:
This site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
If your enquiry does not become a booking, we keep the correspondence for up to two years, because people often come back to us a season or two later. If you do book, we keep the booking records for six years to meet our accounting and tax obligations. After that we delete them.
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it. Email us and we will deal with it within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
